A CAPITAL FOI ENCERRADA NA 5ª FEIRA, 29 DE AGOSTO, POR DECISÃO DA CÂMARA MUNICIPAL DE LISBOA. NÃO SE SABE POR ENQUANTO O QUE VAI ACONTECER AOS ARTISTAS UNIDOS NEM À PROGRAMAÇÃO ANUNCIADA.

Começam a surgir apoios internacionais:

O que se tem passado n'A Capital é único na Europa. Tenho nos últimos anos viajado muito pela Europa toda para assistir a representações e o projecto d'A Capital é extraordinário, tanto em alcance como em impacto social, ambiente positivo e qualidade artística: o que tem acontecido em Lisboa n' A Capital pôs sem dúvida tanto Lisboa como Portugal no mapa teatral europeu.
Se isto for interrompido é um escândalo absoluto e é simplesmente impossível entender porquê.

THE BUILDING A CAPITAL WAS SHUT DOWN ON THURDAY, AUGUST 29, FOLLOWING DECISION FROM THE MAYOR OF LISBON. IT IS NOT YET KNOWN WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE ARTISTAS UNIDOS NOR TO THEIR ADVERTISED PRODUCTIONS.

International support has started to arrive:

What is happening in A Capital is unique in Europe. I have for years been travelling extensively all around Europe to watch productions, and the project at A Capital is extraordinary, both in scope, social impact, in lifting atmosphere and in artistic quality: what has been going on in Lisbon at A Capital has no doubt put both Lisbon and Portugal on the European map of theatre.
If this is going to be stopped it is an absolute scandal, and it is simply impossible to understand why.
